About Hometown Showdown

Hometown Showdown is developing MainStreet Million, a shop-local challenge concept that would let residents submit purchase receipts and work together toward a community spending goal.

The proposed founding pilot starts in Muscatine. The plan is to shape a 30-day challenge with local businesses and community partners, then report verified eligible spending and merchant participation with care about what tracked purchases do—and do not—say about new economic activity.

Receipt verification, duplicate checks, private spending dashboards, leaderboards, optional sharing, rewards, and aggregate community reporting are planned product features. The challenge tools are not live yet.
